Abstract:
According to the integer wavelet transform, a new method of content-based image retrieval is presented, which integrates color and spatial features. Firstly, the circular region F-norms in low frequency band of integer wavelet transform are extracted as color feature. Secondly, low frequency band of integer wavelet transform is segmented into blocks and encoded, the transition probability matrix utilizing characteristic of Markov chain is as spatial information. Finally, the similarities between color images are computed by using a combined index based on color feature and spatial feature. Through the comparative experiment on the image retrieval over various images, the results show that this representation of image is feasible and valid in image retrieval.
