License Plate Location Algorithm for FPGA Hardware Real-Time Processing

  • 摘要: 本文提出了用边缘检测、数学形态学、投影法、车牌的几何特征相结合的适合FPGA进行高速处理的车牌定位算法.通过对500幅车牌图像在FPGA上进行的实验表明,本文提出的算法车牌定位准确率达98.8%,而每幅车牌的定位时间仅为1.2ms.

     

    Abstract: In this paper,a new algorithm of license plate location suitable for FPGA is proposed,which consists of edge detection,mathematical morphology,projection method,and utilization of the geometric characteristics of license plates.Experiments on 500 license plate images showed that its accuracy rate is as high as 98.8%,and the average processing time of each image is only 1.2ms.
