基于VC6.0开发平台的矢量量化算法实现及优化

Implementation and Optimization of Vector Quantization Algorithms Based on Visual C++6.0

  • 摘要: 矢量量化是一种高效的有损压缩技术,但其存在编码算法实现实时性不高的问题.为了提高编码算法在PC机上的执行效率,文中从现有的成熟矢量量化有效算法(基于不等式删除准则)入手,针对PC机上intel CPU的工作特点,分析了矢量量化算法优化的特点,提出了采用MMX指令等有效的优化方法.

     

    Abstract: Vector Quantization(VQ)is an efficient lossy compression technology.However it is difficult for VQ to realize real-time encoding.The aim of this paper is to increase the efficiency of VQ coding algorithm on PC.By implementing several well-known methods of VQ algorithm based on Inequality Deletion Criterion and analyzing the results of their performances based on Intel CPU,we propose some effective optimization methods using MMX instructions.
