Abstract:
A low tuning curve gain (Kvco) voltage controlled oscillator (VCO)is presented.Voltage scaling circuit composes resistive voltage divider network(RVDN) and a current steer circuit.The RVDN scales down the control voltage range and achieve a low Kvco.A current steer circuit injecting or extracting current provides DC operating bias at the control voltage net,and converts the tuning curve into many sub-bands.Because of the linear current steer circuit and the RVDN,the proposed VCO has a large tuning range.Stimulation shows its Kvco is less than 20M Hz.V and good linear performance.
