Three-dimensional Visual Simulation of Tobacco Root Growth

  • 摘要: 形态可视化技术是虚拟植物研究的关键技术之一.本研究以烟草根系为对象, 将系统分析方法和数学建模技术应用于烟草根系的形态建成, 通过对烟草根系形态数据的定量分析, 并结合前人的研究成果, 构建了烟草根系生长模型 (纵向伸展速率、横向伸展速率、根系生长方向) 、根系分枝模型 (分枝方向、分枝位置、分支数量) 等.以此为基础, 运用计算机图形学技术, 构建了烟草根系虚拟生长系统.运行结果表明该系统能较好地模拟烟草根系的形态特征, 能较逼真的实现烟草根系生长过程的虚拟显示.

     

    Abstract: Morphology visualization is one of the key technologies for constructing virtual plants. By applying the system analysis principle and mathematical modeling technique to the morphogenesis, the model for simulating root morphogenesis development of tobacco was developed through the quantitative analysis of the experimental data and integrating the existed theory and knowledge. The model includes root growth and root branching submodel. The root growth submodel can quantitatively describe vertical and horizontal extension rate and growth direction. The root branching submodel can describe branching direction, branching location and number of branches. Based on the model and computer graphics technology, the virtual growth system for tobacco root was constructed. The operational results of the system show that the system can primarily realize the visual description of growth process of tobacco root.
