Study and Design of Embedded Real-time Microkernel Operating System

  • The thesis analyzes the advantage of the structure of micro-kernel when designing the embedded real-time operating system. An embedded real-time operating system for micro-kernel structureis designed. The kernel of the system is made up of the task manager, task communication, clock management, interrupt management, memory management and other modules. The core uses the combination of preemptive scheduling and time-sharing scheduling strategy, and priority-based look-up table queue management. It makes the system find the tasks quickly when dipatching them which meets the real-time requirements. The kernel provides a variety of communication, and designes a special control access to critical resources which makes it easy to take priority over other tasks when necessary. It proposes a good solution to the common problem of inversion of embedded operating systems preemptive priority. Finally, the thesis gives the system implementation on the ARM-based processor EL-ARM-830 hardware platform.
