A Pipeline ADC-Based High-Speed Truly Random Number Generator

  • The corresponding analog input to analog output characteristic map derived from the building of one and a half bit per stage pipeline ADC presents chaotic characteristics. We can make the two digital outputs per stage XOR to change the distribution characteristics of sequence for generating independent identically distributed random bits.Employing this method we design a high speed truly random number generator, and introduce a novel high speed low power preamplifier-latch comparator. The simulation result shows that the output can pass standard NIST statistical tests without any post-processed and the output bit rate can reach 200Mb/s.
