Research and Design on Radar Training System Based on Network

The quantity of navigation radar used in marine practice teaching is rather limited and inefficient. Aiming at these problems, a radar teaching system based on network was designed in this paper. Designed by both hardware and software, the system controls the radar antenna to transmit radar electromagnetic wave, receives and processes the echo signal in real-time, displays the echo signal in the radar terminal while doing digital acquisition through radar acquisition card, compresses the echo data and then delivers them through the local network to the notebooks of the training students. The application in marine navigation practice proved that the design of the system was simple, practical and reliable, which could save the funds of purchasing radar equipment. And this system is rather flexible. With combination of ECDIS and AIS, it can provide more effectively aided navigation.
