Design of Integral Current Observer for Boost Converter

  • In order to solve the problem that the current sensor increases the system cost and volume in the traditional current mode control, an integrated current observer is proposed. Firstly, the structure of Boost converter system based on current mode control with integral current observer is introduced. The variation law of inductor current is analyzed and the duty cycle algorithm is derived. Then based on the variation law of the inductor current, an integrated current observer is proposed. Finally, the proposed current observer is verified by simulation and experiment, the experimental results show that the error between the current estimated by the integrated current observer and the actual inductor current is within 4.375%, and the observed current can quickly and accurately estimate the actual inductance current when the input voltage and load change.
