Research on Extracting Shape Feature of Digital Image

Edge detection is done before the algorithm of contour extracting is applied or Canny arithmetic operators are used to get object outline in this paper. The shape feature of object can be described by circularity, Fourier descriptor, invariant moment, skeleton and so on. We successfully realize calculation of invariant moment and extraction and anti-conversion of skeleton. The results of experiment prove that invariant moment and skeleton can express the information of shape.
