5 μA 0.5 mVpp Low Frequency Wake-up Receiver for Tire Pressure Monitoring System

  • In order to reduce the power consumption of tire monitoring module in the tire pressure monitoring system, adopting the 125 kHz low-frequency wake-up communication link achieve proactive monitoring to reduce tire monitoring module's power consumption to extend the life of lithium batteries. Most of the time, 125 kHz low-frequency wake-up receiver is in monitoring mode, so it is essential to take an low-power design analysis. As for the receiver in 125 kHz low-frequency wake-up communication link, adopting Shanghai ASMC's 0.35μm 5V-40V BCD automotive electronic technology to design the low-frequency wake-up receiver, total area of the receiver is 1.4 mm2, and core area is 0.48 mm2. After tapeout and test validation, post-simulation power consumption of the receiver is 4.72 μA. Tested Sensitivity is 0.5mVpp, the maximum tested data rate is 35Kbps, and the receiver can satisfy the tire pressure monitoring system low-frequency wake-up request.
