A Fast and Automatic Parallel Algorithm of Remote Sensing Image Mosaic

A novel parallel mosaic approach was proposed based on Flexible Image Blending algorithm. A weighting function is obtained using the normalized distance from current pixel to the center point of each image, by which the mosaiced image is feathered. This approach overcomes the problem that multi-images must be divided into one-to-one′s mosaics, and can be used for parallel seamless mosaicing with great superiority. Experiments show that the new approach can improve both the visual quality and increase the computing efficiency.
