Research and Design of AC-Direct LED Lamp Driver IC

This paper presents an AC-direct LED lamp driver scheme and driver IC.It is an AC-DC converter free system with power factor correction.The circuits are designed and simulated by high voltage BCD process.To achieve high power factor,the PWM control of the peak current is used to let the current with same phase as the voltage for LED.The driver system is also bulk electrolytic capacitor free,the life time of LED will be extended.The driver IC has a simple structure without complicated digital process unit,so it is easy to realize.
