An Improved Forwarding Strategy in Opportunistic Networks

  • Based on the analysis to the existing forwarding strategy and nodes movement characteristics,proposed a new routing algorithm,named Delayed Spray and Wait(DSW).The applied scenarios are assumed to be situations that mobile nodes move along existing path.The contribution includes adding a delay period,which can effectively reduce the unnecessary relay package in the network.The simulation result shows that this algorithm achieves better delivery rate and less relay package numbers in appropriate scenarios,which has practical significance in saving nodes energy and avoid congestion.
