Improved Dynamic Dual Threshold Algorithm for Peak Detection of Barcode Signal

  • Laser barcode scanner is a common one-dimensional barcode reader,and its performance is mainly affected by the accuracy of peak detection of barcode signal.To obtain a better result of peak detection,this article offers an improved dynamic dual threshold algorithm which can be easily implemented in software.The algorithm is simulated in MATLAB and tested on the self-developed laser barcode scanner.The results indicate a more precise threshold for peak detection can be obtained from less calculation with the improved algorithm,which greatly improve the reading and recognition capabilities of the laser barcode scanner.
