UM-BUS modeling and key parameters determination based on network calculus

  • When UM-BUS is used in embedded system, the BUS arbitration time slot size, protocol packet size and other key parameters have a great impact on the performance of the BUS. The key parameters of the BUS must be determined by means of mathematical model establishment and simulation analysis to ensure that the transmission delay of the BUS can meet the real-time requirements of the system. In this paper, the real-time performance of UM-BUS is modeled and analyzed, the data service model of the BUS system is established by using the network calculus theory, and the analytical result expression of the upper bound of the data transmission delay is obtained. A typical example of unmanned vehicle control system is given, and the optimal key parameter Settings are determined. The accuracy of the model is verified by comparing the simulation results with the experimental statistical results.
