License Plate Recognition Method Based on Character Density

Aiming at license plate recognition development, a new character recognition algorithm is introduced based on binary image.In the method, we adopt new features including character horizontal traverse density and character vertical traverse density, classifier uses error back-propagation algorithm of artificial neural network (BP neural network) .This method can increase the correct license plate character recognition rate and real-time performance, experimental results show the new method is efficient.
