Strapdown Image Homing System Sensor and Digital Compound Image Stabilization

  • For the sensor image stabilization and digital image stabilization each has its advantages and insufficient, a compound image stabilization algorithm is proposed. First of all, the feature points are extracted using SIFT algorithm, and the indicated position by gyro data is made as the center point of initial sourcing position in a certain size rectangular area to search for matching feature points. Then, the interframe transformation matrix under affine transformation model is calculated using the shortest euclidean distance of matching point pairs. Finally, using the reference frame update method based on the mechanism of persistence of vision, each current frame image is reconstruction, and the compound stabilization algorithm is completed. Experimental results show that the compound image stabilization method is reducing the computational method of digital image stabilization and improving the speed of operation, it can meet the requirement for image stabilization precision and real-time performance of the strapdown image guidance system.
