Implementation of an Intra-spacecraft 1553B-to-ZigBee Bridge

  • 1553B-to-ZigBee bridge is the key to realize the data communication between 1553B bus and ZigBee network.ZigBee network works as a remote terminal controlled by the 1553B bus controller.The bridge hardware and software design are described.The bridge hardware includes the 1553B bus interface,FPGA,processor and the ZigBee network interface.The proposed design uses BU61585 as the 1553B protocol chip and 89S52 as host processor,and the glue logic needed between them is realized on FPGA.The bridge communicates with ZigBee network through serial port RS232 controlled by processor 89S52.It is tested and verified that command and data can be transmitted successfully between 1553B bus and ZigBee network.
