Design and Implementation of a Mutual Authentication Security Chip Based on NTRU Algorithm

  • For the purpose of protecting software and hardware intellectual property rights in embedded systems, a mutual authentication scheme and protection mechanism based on NTRU algorithm is proposed, and a security chip is also designed. The low power and small area of the kind of chip are realized according to a lightweight NTRU engine. Under Huahong NEC 0.35 μm process, the chip has 23.8 kgates, and its average power consumption is 3.17 mW. Testing result shows that the security chip can achieve the purpose of protecting the security of embedded systems.
