Design of High Performance Memory Controller Based on SOC

  • 摘要: 基于片上系统(SOC)和专用集成电路(ASIC)对外部存储器控制器的数据吞吐率要求越来越高, 采用功能模块化的设计方法设计了一种具有较高吞吐量、良好的可配置性和多用途的存储器控制器, 并详细分析了其内部结构.该控制器在SMIC 0.18 μm CMOS的工艺下, 可以稳定运行在100 MHz.与公开发表的类似论文相比, 该方案可支持多种不同型号不同类型的存储器等优势.目前, 该控制器已应用于实验室研发的图像信息预处理SOC, 该芯片在板级硬件环境中的测试结果表明该控制器具有较好的性能.

     

    Abstract: Along with the development of system on chip and Application Specific Integrated Circuit, the external memory controller with higher data throughput is needed.We design a memory controller with high throughput, good configurability, and analyze its internal structure in detail.In the process of 0.18 μm CMOS SMIC, the controller can work stably in 100 MHz.Compared with the similar designs, the scheme can support many different types of of memories.At present, the controller has been applied to the SOC, which is designed by our laboratory.The test results in the hardware environment show that the controller has a high performance.
